Ben Knol – Head Coach
I’ve been a part of the OHS Wrestling coaching staff for 2 years. My first year at OHS, I coached the Freshman team. Prior to coming to OHS I was the Head Coach at Herculaneum High School for 9 years where I coached 2 State Champions, 12 State Medalists, and 41 State Qualifiers. I’ve also coached Junior High Wrestling for 2 years in Champaign, IL. I am a graduate of Stillwater High School in Oklahoma. I currently teach Government and AP Government at OHS.
I’ve been a part of the OHS Wrestling coaching staff for 10 years. I am a graduate of Mexico high School. Wrestling became a huge part of my life 20 years ago when I first strapped up the laces. It has taught me everything from mat skills to life skills to self dependability. And I hope to continue to help our wrestlers be ready for life on the mat as well as off. Once you’ve wrestled, everything else in life is easy!
I am a proud graduate of OHS. I’ve been a part of the OHS Wrestling team since 2000, took 5th place as a competitor, & have been on the coaching staff for 10 years. The thing I enjoy the most is affecting change in the community that has given me so much in my life. I can honestly say that I do not know where I would be in life without the skills wrestling has taught me, most notably self-confidence, mental toughness, perseverance, leadership, & accountability.
I’ve been a part of the OHS Wrestling coaching staff for 3 years. I grew up around Oakville wrestling as a little kid when I started wrestling in elementary school for the Oakville Jr Tiger Wrestling program. I graduated from Oakville High School in 2011 and went to college at Westminster College to play football. I’m a Special School District Teacher here at Oakville and I teach in the Center Based classroom
