Meet Coach Walters, Oakville Alumni and New Head Water Polo Coach!
I am an Oakville Alumni, attending Oakville High School from 2006-2010. I participated in Oakville Swimming and Water Polo all four years of high school. After high school, I attended the University of Missouri – Columbia (Mizzou) and received a degree in K-12 Special Education. At Mizzou, I played club water polo all four years and was the president of the club my junior and senior years. After graduating college in 2014, I received a job teaching special education at Lone Dell Elementary in the Fox C-6 School District. I primarily work with students with emotional and behavioral disorders and am currently in my 5th year of teaching. I love that every day is so unique and filled with challenges that have helped shape me into the man that I am today. Developing lasting relationships and helping kids reach their maximum potential is my ultimate passion. I believe there truly is no better feeling in the world. Having the opportunity to coach at my former high school is just another way for me to continue to impact students’ lives in a positive way. Just like I run my classroom, my way of doing things promotes character building. I strive to teach lessons that go beyond the pool or the classroom that these kids can carry with them for the rest of their lives. The Oakville school pride ingrained in me pushes me to want this program to reach true greatness and with the right mix of skill, determination and hard work, I truly believe this team can reach that place.
